For over forty years, Sandal Security has been a cornerstone for security throughout the Yorkshire region.
From humble beginnings in 1984, our founders Mark and Gill began building the foundations for where we are today, from their home office in Sandal, Wakefield. Within just a few years we opened our first purpose-built premises and employed some of our core members of staff over 30 years ago, who shape our management team today.
The business went from strength to strength with the engineering team swiftly expanding, along with the range of services we offer growing to provide a complete Security Service to our loyal customers.
SSS soon gained NSI accreditation for our high standards of workmanship and service in 1997, which progressed into us achieving NSI GOLD status in 2004, a huge milestone that proves our commitment to quality of work. In 2014 we also achieved NSI FIRE GOLD and BAFE accreditation, meaning that we we’re officially accredited to the highest possible standard for both Security & Fire Services and have been from then on.

Mark began his career as a precision engineer before transitioning into the security industry. He trained as a security engineer in York and gained experience with various security firms for several years.
Mark’s technical expertise, combined with his sales acumen and entrepreneurial drive, led him to co-found Sandal Security with his wife, Gill, in September 1984.
Over the years, Marks business and sales skills have pushed the company to grow and develop, earning industry recognition and quality certifications, establishing SSS as one of Yorkshire’s leading providers in the fire and security sector.

Gill began her career in the banking sector, accumulating over 10 years of financial expertise. In early 1984, she married Mark, and just four months later, they co-founded SSS.
Combining Mark’s expertise in sales and electrical work with Gill’s extensive banking knowledge, they formed a dynamic and successful partnership.
Gill continued her banking career for several more years and alongside this expertly managed the company’s administration, playing a crucial role in SSS’s growth and success. The dedication she demonstrated during those formative years was instrumental in shaping SSS into the thriving business it is today.

Ian began his career as an electronics apprentice in 1984, gaining extensive experience across various security firms.
With over a decade of expertise, he joined SSS more than 30 years ago as a Senior Engineer, where he contributed to all facets of Security & Fire Services.
Demonstrating a strong work ethic and exceptional skill in building lasting customer relationships, Ian quickly became an integral member of the SSS team. Over time, his leadership and vision played a key role in the company’s growth, and he now proudly serves as our Managing Director.

Kris began his career at SSS as an apprentice and has been with the company ever since.
Throughout his career, he has worked his way across all aspects of Fire & Security Services, gaining extensive technical knowledge of the industry through his diligent work ethic and his eagerness to learn.
Over the past 30 years, Kris has thrived in his role and is now serving as our Senior Technical Manager. His wealth of knowledge and technical expertise make him a vital member of the SSS team, playing a key role in the effective management of our engineers.

Emma joined SSS in 2000, bringing with her a diverse skill set in computing and administration.
Over the years, she has expanded her expertise across various areas, obtaining qualifications in business, administration, and accounts. Throughout her tenure, Emma has consistently demonstrated dedication and a strong work ethic.
She oversees and organises our accreditation inspections, ensuring the business operates to the highest standards, while also efficiently managing our clients’ accounts. Emma’s multifaceted role and her management of the daily operations are crucial in enabling the company to run smoothly and ensure our premium level of service.
